The objective market of the organization has been partitioned into home products, do-it-without anyone's help articles, and exchange people. To accomplish the vision explanation the methodologies embraced are to expand deals and piece of the pie, cost-cutting, keeping up and expanding nature of items and administrations. The authoritative diagram of the organization is as per the following. Figure 1: Organizational Chart of Australian Hardware Source: (Australian equipment, 2018) Market examines done by the organization and different sources showed that there are colossal prospects of development in the Australian equipment advertise (Miller, 2016). One of the principle strategies for expanding inspiration of the representatives is by propelling them in budgetary and non-money related ways. A persuaded representative consistently works in excess of a de-spurred or less inspired worker (Lazaroiu, 2015). The subsequent target, which has been concluded, is to prepare the representatives in a way that would separate them. One of the techniques conceived by the organization in its business approach is to stay with the separated in its market portion. This piece of the KPI procedure will cover the base of the authoritative structure including deals advisors and deals collaborators. The following phase of the authoritative graph comprises of timber chiefs, plumbing and electrical supervisors, equipment and home items director, garden items administrators and head supervisors of activity for each store. They can be brought under the KPI framework through viable checking of the errands dispensed to them exclusively. It is obvious how specialized functions are dedicatedly partitioned to every individual having that specific aptitude. Key execution marker of every one of them will screen and evaluate how effectively they can accomplish their objectives in their particular aptitude, which will profit the organization overall. The center supervisors screen the lower chiefs (Bandiera, 2015). The head supervisors who are over the previo usly mentioned workers and administrators can be evaluated by the exhibition of the store all in all and how it is developing its incomes with time. At the point when the previously mentioned Key Performance Indicator process is given something to do the arrangement of precise worker examination will consequently be set up. Away from about the presentation of every representative will make it simple for the HR chiefs to assess them. Aside from that the shortcomings and issues among the workers will likewise be distinguished which can be explained through preparing and inspiration. Conference WITH MANAGERS Conference about the entire procedure with the Chief Operating Officer or COO is significant in light of the fact that he is liable for the tasks of the entire business, and usage of the arrangements on ground level. There was a point by point meeting about the targets set and procedures planned so as to keep up a harmony between the human asset forms and the tasks. The KPI ought to be mixed with the day by day tasks such that it doesn't represent an obstacle. Expanded productivity and inspiration from the representatives can be accomplished by setting progressively reachable targets, and an agreeable workplace, this was passed on to the COO with the goal that it is one of the needs of the operational directors on the ground level is to rouse the representatives normally. Along these lines, the chiefs under activities office who are overseeing the representatives need to give normal criticism. The following gathering was held with the Chief Financial Manager, or CFO, who is liable for the discharging of store for new procedures and system. The KIP needs new programming improvement and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning); it should be finished by an expert web advisor and developer. In the gathering held with the CFO it was talked about what measure of reserve is should have been allotted for the ERP structure. Aside from that, the new examination framework incorporates prizes and acknowledgments to workers who are fruitful in accomplishing targets. The prizes incorporate money related motivating forces. The measure of motivating forces must be according to the presentation nature of the representative. It was concluded that the better consumer loyalty a representative could accomplish, the more motivating forces would that worker gain. Consumer loyalty is a higher priority than number of deals accomplished by a representative, in light of the fact that fulfilled clients are bringing customers back. The last goal of preparing the workers needs a superior preparing framework and new administrators in the human asset division who might direct the trainings. The Flying Luxury Hotel of Tomorrow

“The Flying Luxury Hotel of Tomorrow” Check this out: http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/02/16/aeroscraft/index.html The flying luxury hotel of tomorrow: Cruise ship will sail through the air, not the water By Joshua Tompkins Popular Science Thursday, February 16, 2006; Posted: 4:35 p.m. EST (21:35 GMT) (PopSci.comexternal link) This is not a Blimp. Its a sort of flying Queen Mary 2 that could change the way you think about air travel. Its the Aeroscraft, and when its completed, it will ferry pampered passengers across continents and oceans as they stroll leisurely about the one-acre cabin or relax in their well-appointed staterooms. Unlike its dirigible ancestors, the Aeroscraft is not lighter than air. Its 14 million cubic feet of helium hoist only two thirds of the crafts weight. The rigid and surprisingly aerodynamic body driven by huge rearward propellers generates enough additional lift to keep the behemoth and its 400-ton payload aloft while cruising. During takeoff and landing, six turbofan jet engines push the ship up or ease its descent. This two-football-fields-long concept airship is the brainchild of Igor Pasternak, whose privately-funded California firm, Worldwide Aeros Corporation, is in the early stages of developing a prototype and expects to have one completed by 2010. Pasternak says several cruise ship companies have expressed interest in the project, and for good reason: The craft would have a range of several thousand miles and, with an estimated top speed of 174 miles per hour, could traverse the continental U.S. in about 18 hours. During the flight, passengers would peer at national landmarks just 8,000 feet below or, if they werent captivated by the view, the cavernous interior would easily accommodate such amenities as luxury staterooms, restaurants, even a casino. To minimize noise, the aft-mounted propellers will be electric, powered by a renewable source such as hydrogen fuel cells. A sophisticated buoyancy-management system will serve the same purpose as trim on an airplane, allowing for precise adjustments in flight dynamics to compensate for outside conditions and passenger movement. The automated system will draw outside air into compartments throughout the ship and compress it to manage onboard weight. The company envisions a cargo-carrying version that could deliver a stores worth of merchandise from a centralized distribution center straight to a Wal-Mart parking lot or, because the helium-filled craft will float, a years worth of supplies to an offshore oil rig. You can land on the snow, you can land on the water, Pasternak says. Its a new vision of what can be done in the air. ***FACT BOX AEROSCRAFT FACTS:** -Purpose: Long-range travel for passengers who are more concerned with the journey than the destination. -Dimensions: 165 feet (height) x 244 feet (width) x 647 feet (length) -Max Speed: 174 miles per hour -Range: 6,000 miles -Capacity: 250 passengers

Traditional compan ies quickly incorporated buying options in order to expand their market spread. Part of e-commerce success was due to the introduction of online payments. The search engine was launched, which used a sophisticated algorithm to rank hits. Blogging software was also introduced. There are several underlying factors influencing the propensity to buy online. Internet familiarity and experience are crucial factors determining the buy rate of a household. Only 25% of internet starters proceed to make an online purchase while 70% of online experts place a payment online. While a number of internet users grow further, the current potential has rather decreased. The internet use and the internet potential are strongly dependable on age. More significant even than the increase of internet usage is the qualitative change of the internet use. Today a significant number of internet users are no longer in the starting phase, but rather in the process of learning and increasing internet competence ( Dholakia, Ruby Nikhilesh, 83). Nowadays about a quarter of the population belongs to the regular internet users with the frequency of utilization of at least two to three times a week; 13% use the medium daily, and only 7% use it several times in a day.The main advantage for online business buyers is the way that they can go shopping without having to think of time and place. Buyers are looking for goods and services that are more convenient and have value benefits that will spare them time, while retailers search for all the more retail channels to carry them into direct contact with the purchaser (Wang, 400). Along these lines, just shopping can possibly satisfy both the requirements of buyers and supermarket administrators. For those purchasers who cannot go out because of physical obliges, web-based shopping is a lucky thing because the merchandise is conveyed to their home. Moreover, it is considerably less demanding to analyze costs and administration offer online for the cli ents. So they can choose from home which is the best place to purchase their provisions without considering the distance that is between their home and the shop.Problems with E-CommerceAs anyone who has ever tried to buy over the internet knows well, it can be a very time-consuming process, especially for those lacking keyboard skills. Not only do they need to enter details of name, address and credit card into onscreen forms (Schfer, 28). But also the chances are a pop-up window will warn about entering an insecure area. This is why a lot of online purchases are abandoned during the transaction process. Additionally, shoppers become irritated by the need to enter all the personal information. As online retailing is a new and inventive way of product offering, consumers expect a new and fresh consumer approach. On the other hand, they expect all positive familiar features of the online business to be retailed. As they cannot communicate directly with the sales personnel, they expect from an e-seller a telephone hotline or an online hotline with fast email response. In addition, they do not want to do without the possibility to return goods against money.Security is also still a very big issue as ion the internet there are no instances such as sales people reassuring quality and reliability of the offer. Therefore it is much more difficult for online businesses to build up trust and customer loyalty. Numerous clients are still concerned about the payment safety and data protection. Another problem is the cost of service- to put together what were order and the delivery. Fulfillment is also crucial to an e-business success. Products have to be of good quality, delivery has to be fast and on time. But so far, according to DHL Worldwide Express, only 20% of goods ordered over the internet reach the customer within the promised time (Schafer, 29). If there are technical problems or mistakes in orders the whole benefits of online shopping might be lost if customers a re required to go back to the shop. Also, the information available online is not the same as in the real world. For instance, customers cannot read the descriptions on the product packaging, which is particularly an issue for allergists and health conscious people. Consumer anxieties about product freshness and quality are also a big issue, as they have to trust the person who is selecting their groceries for them. However, everybody has his or he own preferences, some like the bananas ripe and others prefer them green.A lot of people...

About A Technological Unemployment - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 2 Words: 708 Downloads: 9 Date added: 2019/05/31 Category Society Essay Level High school Tags: Unemployment Essay Did you like this example? Self-checkout machines have been starting to show up everywhere, from the local Walmart to stores across the globe. Before these machines came to fruition, those areas used to house employee operated check-out machines. Those employees were eventually replaced for a faster and easier check-out method. Knowing that your livelihood and job can be deterred by a simple, inanimate object is a hard reality. Every new machine developed to increase industry productivity leaves hardworking individuals being left without a job and it is seemingly only going to increase. Ever since the Industrial Revolution, technological improvements have been a great value to employers over the country. Before the Industrial Revolution, agriculture work was a massive source of employment. There was such a high demand for the products and it required a substantial amount of work for the farm to make a profit. The agriculture industry, along with many others, exploded with new innovations whenever machines made their first appearance in the workforce. Harvesting machines such as the cotton gin and spinning jenny have allowed producers to rapidly produce their goods while saving the cost of labor. While the machines did make the farmerrs jobs easier, there was also a huge decline in the number of farmers needed. This forced the workers to work in industrial jobs, which fueled the Industrial Revolution even more so. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "About A Technological Unemployment" essay for you Create order Technology has been improved and modified for centuries with the goal of improving workplace productivity. However, current circumstances are relatively unique than in years past. The human population is spreading like wildfire, every few years increases the population by billions. Business owners want their businesses to be as cost-efficient as possible. A machine does not need a paycheck, vacation, sick days, or even rest. Naturally the business will save more money by replacing their workers with advanced machines. These newly potential workers could be left without a job. Potentially no job is safe from replacement if the rate of technological advancement carries on as it has for the past couple years. If machines continue to grow at this extraordinary rate, the nation could collapse from a horribly skewed balance of wealth. Productivity will reach an all-time high from all sectors. However, unemployment will also skyrocket. There will then be an all-time low in purchasing power. This is especially true if the labor market is inflexible. For example, coal mining used to be a huge source of labor and wealth, especially during the 1920s. As the coal runs out in the area, and better energy methods started to appear, these coal miners started to lose their jobs. These miners often cannot take up a new job due to an occupational and/or geographical immobility. They most likely do not have the necessary skills to work a new job, and they might live far away from the workplace. This resulted in a temporary unemployment surge until they could learn the skills required or could move to a more prosperous part of the area. An alternative idea of technological change is that it will not cause unemployment. Technological change in the food industry means we can produce food with fewer workers. It is then cheaper, to produce food and the price to buy food will fall. This means that a smaller income percentage will go towards buying food, so they have more money for other goods and services (especially manufactured goods). This increased demand for manufactured goods causes higher demand, therefore there will be a higher demand for workers. This is just innovation with technology, the types of jobs will change not be replaced. If labor productivity increases, we can then enjoy a greater range of goods and services. Businesses and corporations have been integrating new technology and advanced machinery into their work procedure for over a century, resulting in less workers needed. The laid off people just needed to learn new skills to work the machinery. If the robots become capable of doing the same job the human once did (such as the check-out machines), they will no longer have a role in the workplace. It is unsure how increased technology will shape the job market in the future. The only thing certain is that integrating new machines make the business/production process run more effective and cost-efficient.

The Canadian Medical Association Defines Physician...

The Canadian Medical Association defines physician-assisted death (PAD) as â€Å"[when] a physician knowingly and intentionally provides a person with the knowledge and/or means required to end their own lives†¦Ã¢â‚¬ . (A, p29) In Canada, suicide has been legal for years, but euthanasia and physician-assisted death have only recently been decriminalized in a court of law. However, until 2016, PAD can still be charged as â€Å"culpable homicide† under section 222 and 229 of the Criminal Code of Canada. (B,K) The specifics of the debate on physician-assisted death in Canada has, over the decades, not significantly changed, but instead Canadians’ opinions have been shifted since information from Belgium, Columbia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland,†¦show more content†¦(B, K) However, it is first important to understand exactly what is being challenged and what PAD really means. PAD is not to be confused with withdrawal of treatment, since patients h ave the right to refuse life-sustaining means, such as ventilator assistance or nourishment. (A, I) On the other hand, PAD has been, up until recently, illegal, even though suicide without assistance is not. (B) Critics of PAD have expressed concern about abuse and error in assisted death, but less so about the same margins when it comes to the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. They say that there is a clear difference between the act of ending one’s life and simply withdrawal of treatment. (K) However, it is also important to note that this does not mean that those against PAD are for preserving life at all costs, as witnessed by withdrawing care that does no more than prolong suffering. (F) Proponents argue that the act of withdrawing life-sustaining treatment is just as likely to lead to death as a physician giving a lethal dose of a substance, so why are physicians legally required to respect one choice, but not the other? (K) The end result of PAD is comparable to actions that are legally performed by physicians, such as aggressive palliative care, and withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. (K) Court Cases For many years, Canada s stance on the ethical issues regarding PAD has been static, and the 1993 case of

People who do that tend to drive themselves crazy and affect the people surrounded around them. For example, in this case Twinkle commits innocent actions just to express what she feels and Sanjeev downgrade everything she does. Sanjeev brought the conflicts of their relationship upon himself because he did not let go and express himself in the way that his wife did. If he were to let go and explore new things in his life he would understand why Twinkle did what she did. He does not understand that people want to see diversity in the world today. For example, if a christian would have came into their home, it would have made that person feel right at home because they would feel comfort around their surroundings. Perhaps this was not the only way to solve their marital problems. Apparently by the end of the story Sanjeev and Twinkle s relationshi p was still rocky and still had a few problems to work on. The Importance of Education Free Essays

The importance of education has become apparent to many families across the globe. Entering a University has become progressively easier over the past decades. Even though the entrances have become easier, it doesn’t mean that actually graduating college is any easier. We will write a custom essay sample on The Importance of Education or any similar topic only for you Order Now Education is the essential part of every minor’s life, if they aren’t subject to a good education or they are but they fail to take advantage, they will most likely end up on the â€Å"losing end† of the race to make money once they graduate from either college or high school. As a whole, getting into a college and graduating provides the student with a â€Å"fast pass† in life. For example, if someone were to drop out of high school, they would most likely never get the spot that requires a college degree because they have to know what they are doing in order to actually complete the job. The college graduate on the other hand, could easily take the position of any person that has not completed college or especially high school. But thanks to the opportunity provided to the children in the United States, they have a chance at getting into college as long as they don’t have bad grades or are students who often misbehave and acquire a large array of referrals. Children that do not behave and/or have bad grades have a much lower chance of actually getting into college, let alone actually graduating from it. Education is most likely the most important aspect of a child’s life, whether they know it or not. An education not only provides students with the tools they need to survive a normal day in the life of a normal working adult, but it provides them with the knowledge to solve problems some have never seen and/or heard of. Even one of our founding fathers clearly understood the importance of an education. George Washington knew that an education was important, especially to a democracy because they need people to understand the issues, discuss them, and be able to solve them. Without an educated population, there could easily be criminals who could oversee the non-educated and use their knowledge to loop around laws and commit crimes easily considered some of the worst by today’s standards. Due to this, it is clear that an education isn’t only important to the individual and their lifetime income, but it is also very important to major departments of society and law. As a whole, Education gives us knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life as well as helping us build opinions and POV’s in our lives. Education helps us develop a world that could function and what is right and what is wrong. Considering the fact that in today’s society everything is about business, the students who have studied the most and have the most desirable degrees become necessities to the companies recruiting them. No matter how important it may seem to someone, it is most likely the most important aspect of their life. How to cite The Importance of Education, Papers The Importance of Education Free Essays Probably no single movement so greatly affected colonial America as the Protestant Reformation. Most of the Europeans who came to America were Protestants, but there were many denominations. Lutherans from Germany and Scandinavia settled in the middle colonies along with Puritans and Presbyterians. We will write a custom essay sample on The Importance of Education or any similar topic only for you Order Now The Reformation was centered upon efforts to capture the minds of men, therefore great emphasis was placed on the written word. Obviously schools were needed to promote the growth of each denomination. Luther†s doctrines made it necessary for boys and girls to learn to read the Scriptures. While the schools that the colonists established in the 17th century in the New England, southern and middle colonies differed from one another, each reflected a concept of schooling that had been left behind in Europe. Most poor children learned through apprenticeship and had no formal schooling at all. Those who did go to elementary school were taught reading, writing, arithmetic, and religion. Learning consisted of memorizing, which was stimulated by whipping. The first â€Å"basic textbook†, the New England Primer, was America†s own contribution to education(Pulliam, Van Patten 86). Used from 1609 until the beginning of the 19th century, its purpose was to teach both religion and reading. The child learning the letter a, for example, also learned that â€Å"In Adam†s fall, We sinned all. † As in Europe, then, schools in the colonies were strongly influenced by religion. This was particularly true of schools in the New England area, which had been settled by Puritans and other English religious dissenters. The school in colonial New England was not a pleasant place either, physically or psychologically. Great emphasis was placed on the shortness of life and the torments of hell. Like the Protestants of the Reformation, who established vernacular elementary schools in Germany in the 16th century, the Puritans sought to make education universal. They took the first steps toward government-supported universal education in the colonies. In 1647, Puritan Massachusetts passed a law requiring that every child be taught to read. [It being the chief object of that old deluder, Satan, to keep men from the knowledge of the scriptures,†¦ it is therefore ordered, that every township†¦ fter the Lord hath increased them to the number of fifty householders,†¦ shall†¦ appoint one within their town to teach all children as shall resort him to read and write. It is further ordered, that where any town shall increase to the number of one hundred families†¦ they shall set up a grammar school, the master thereof being able to instruct youth so far as they may be fitted for the university. Old Deluder Satan Act. -Massachusetts Laws of 1647(Pulliam, Van Patten 51)] Puritan or not, virtually all of the of the colonial schools had a clear-cut moral purposes. Skills and knowledge were considered important to the degree that they served religious ends and â€Å"trained† the mind(Gutmann 180). Early schools supplied the students with moral lessons, not just reading, writing and arithmetic. Obviously, the founders saw it necessary to apply these techniques, feeling that in was necessary that the students learn these particular values. As the spirit of science, commercialism, secularism, and individualism quickened in the Western world, education in the colonies was called upon to satisfy the practical needs of seamen, merchants, artisans, and frontiersmen. The effect of these new developments on the curriculum in American schools was more immediate and widespread than its effect in European schools. Practical content was soon in competition with religious concerns. Vocational education was more significant in the Middle colonies than elsewhere in colonial America. The academy that Benjamin Franklin helped found in 1751 was the first of a growing number of secondary schools that sprang up in competition with the Latin schools. Franklin†s academy continued to offer the humanist-religious curriculum, but it also brought education closer to the needs of everyday life. Teaching such courses as history, geography, merchant accounts, geometry, algebra. These subjects were more practical, seeing as how industry and business were driving forces in the creation of the United States, while religious classes could not support a family or pay the debts. By the 1880s the United States was absorbing several million immigrants a year, a human flood that created new problems for the common school. The question confronting educators was what to teach to educate and prepare them for the work force. Religion was still an important part of their lives but with so varied a population it was impossible to teach any one and families kept their members involved in the church and children learned about religion through Sunday school and by being active in church social gatherings. By the mid-19th century the diversification in the curriculum characterized virtually all American secondary education. America came into its own, educationally, with the movement toward state-supported, secular free schools for all children, which began with the common (elementary) school. Religious denominational or parochial schools remained common in the middle colonies until the country became independent, but such sectarian schools were weakened by the withdrawal of English financial support and by the separation of church and state. The revolutionary period saw academies, with their emphasis on practical subjects such as bookkeeping, navigation, and surveying, increase in popularity. After the common school had been accepted, people began to urge that higher education, too be tax supported(Gutmann 201). By the end of the century, such secondary schools had begun to outnumber the private academies. The original purpose of the American high school was to allow children to extend and enrich their common school education (Diane 56). Schools now needed to ready the students for college-an even higher form of education instead of preparing them to immediately enter the work force. America†s educational ladder was unique. Where public school systems existed in European countries such as France and Germany, they were dual systems. When a child of the lower and middle class finished his elementary schooling, he could go on to a vocational school. The upper-class child did not attend the elementary school and was instead tutored until the age of nine and could enter a secondary Latin school. The purpose of the Latin school was to prepare him for the university, from which he might well emerge as a potential leader of his country. With the independence of America came freedom of religion in the Bill of Rights. Freedom of Religion was included in the first amendment which prevented Congress from making any law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting religious practice. Some states had provisions for tax-supported religion, but were abolished by 1833. Although the long range effects of disestablishment and religious freedom were beneficial to public schools, the immediate result was to take away public funds that had been used to support church-related schools. Separation of church and state also contributed to the educational problems of today, such as the issue over prayer and bible readings in public schools. Nevertheless, sectarian control over public education was broken by the provision for religious freedom. The Industrial Revolution began in Europe and spread to America a few decades later. One effect of the change from an agricultural to an industrial economy was the demand for schools to train students for the workforce. Vocational and industrial education better supplied students with the knowledge to enter a career rather than religious studies. The vocational value of shop work was considered part of general education. The need for skilled workers and the desire for high school education for those not college bound caused the manual training to gain speed. Religion was the major subject in colonial schools, but with the separation of church and state, public schools could only teach non-sectarian religious principals. Still, the curriculum remained heavily influenced by religious writings, prayer, and Christian morality. Bible reading was considered nonsectarian in most communities. The fact that a Protestant bible was not acceptable to Catholics carried little weight, and Jews were also discriminated against in school prayers. Before the twentieth century, minority groups often chose not to make an issue of religion in the public schools. If Catholic, Jewish, or other minority religious groups were unable to support their own schools, they normally accepted the rules of the public schools even when the requirements contradicted their own beliefs. In recent times however, there have been a great number of court cases over the religious requirements or practices in public schools. Although a majority of the cases have decided against the inclusion of religious practices, a large number of Americans are of the opinion that schools are responsible for moral training of America†s youth. The questions arise over and over whether this is a valid requirement or responsibility of the educational system. How does one teach moral values and respect for teachers, students and the community without including the basic philosophy of religion and the worth of prayer. Religious liberals and non-believers have attacked beginning the school day with prayer. With the removal of the Pledge of Allegiance from the daily rite of school curriculum America had made a drastic statement to element any reference to any God, any religion and this sent a message to every household in America that receiving an education would not include any word or association with any God. However, our society will always have a multitude of beliefs and opinions on whether or not it is a responsibility of the educational system to teach respect, honor and morale standards to our children. What responsibilities do parents have to teach religion to their offspring? Do children need to know the beliefs of more than one religion, do children have a right to practice religion in school? A hundred questions could be asked regarding this subject and because we are such a diverse society I do not believe it would be possible to teach religion in school. Which is why I think it is better to live religion out of the schools as to not offend anyone of believing in another religion or does not believe in religion at all. Personally I believe that parents should have the responsibility of teaching children right from wrong. The reason why society is so bad isn†t the fault of the school system, but the lack of good upbringing by parents. How to cite The Importance of Education, Papers

Physical Examination and Health Assessment †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Physical Examination and Health Assessment. Answer: Introduction The essay describes the case study of Katie McConnell. She was hit by a slow moving car. She is a young woman aged 23 years old who sustained a subdural hematoma in the past 18 hours. Injuries due to road accidents are commonly reported in the age group of 15 to 44 years old (AIHW, 2012). Such accidents on road are a result of carelessness which may be of the driver due to alcohol consumption, using mobile phones by either of the injured person while road crossing or the person who is driving the vehicle. One of the main reasons of deaths among the age group of 15-29 is reportedly due to injuries during road accidents (WHO, 2016). Majority of the people suffer huge economic losses irrespective of income and age due to unfortunate accidents which leads to death, hospitalization, disability and trauma which lasts for life-long. Consequently, minor or major injuries in such traffic accidents require hospital stays for long duration, clinical interventions which are usually expensive and high quality nursing care. Based on the case study Katie on diagnosis with mild traumatic brain injury has been directed to obtain appraisal and therapy to recover at neurosurgical trauma centre. Her vital signs mentioned are BP is 147/78, respiration rate is 13, oxygen pressure is 96% and heart rate is 89. It is recommended that vital signs in brain injury cases are to be inferred in relation to the diagnosis of patient and outcomes based on neurologic assessment (Rank, 2013). For example, the reason for elevated blood pressure may be due to accidental trauma or any other medical reason. Katies Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) is 14. According to the existing reports 95% of patients who survived head injury and experienced normal or slight drop in conscious level scored above 12 on GCS (NICE, 2014). This supports Katies present condition that she has mild traumatic brain injury based on GCS. The information which is essential to be recorded or missing in the records is regarding loss of conscious level just after the injury. Has she experienced any pain in the body parts such as headache or cervical area? Why has she come to hospital whether to report any existing problem or behavioural change since the accident? Katie is unable to recall present information, but she can recollect roughly some data when provoked by her partner. It is recommended that for a complete health assessment detailed medical history and appropriate physical examination has to be achieved as both are of utmost importance (Forbes and Watt, 2015). Physical examination should be done by the nurse to find out if there is any pain in the cervical or spine area, swelling or other relevant sign. She suffers from ankle pain due to basketball playing but avoids consuming painkillers. Katie was dressed neatly and was avoiding eye contact. The nurse discussed the medical history with her and the partner accompanying Katie. It has been asked if she was on any medication or any blood anticoagulant was consumed. Did she have blood clotting disorder or any brain surgery in the past? Was she feeling uncomfortable or had any post-traumatic seizure. While talking to her, it was observed that speech tone was slightly slurred and she was not certain about her health information. It is reported that tone, rate and quality of speech reveal mental status o f a person and anxious patients may get irritated (Daines et al., 2016). After physical examination and data collection on health history neurological assessment has to be carried out. It is recommended that a neurological assessment performed must encompass vital signs, loss of conscious level, and functions of motor and cranial nerves as well as pupils (Rank, 2013). The present situation of Katie can be evaluated in a detailed way by computed tomography (CT) scan. She had subdural hematoma 18 hours ago, and her GCS is not 15, therefore CT scan can provide with some data on occurrence of any lesions in the intracranial spaces or not. All the data assessment carried out so far is focussed and will aid to understand potential risks of the injury. Therefore, phases of assessment have been presented by Alfaro-Lefevare, which are important to decide on diagnosis and data collected in an organised manner so that skills are used in logical advances (Alfaro-Lefevare, 2013). These phases guide us to evaluate the symptoms and signs in a critical manner so as to de rive a diagnosis and medical intervention. Post-concussive symptoms occur during recovery process; therefore Katie has been guided by the nurse regarding the risk factors such as sleep disturbances, headaches or concentration problems. Duration of recovery may vary from patient to patient and proper care and family support is the main requirement. The drawback of performing a CT scan is cognitive or behavioural problems cannot be noticed. If there are no lesions or acute haemorrhages in Katies CT scan then performance dependent assessment of neuropsychology has to be done for cognitive skills. Mild traumatic brain injury or post-concussive symptoms are to be evaluated in addition to comprehensive mental health examination. At rehabilitation centre, she can be facilitated with a care-plan to attain optimal health. She will be under observation so that nurses can keenly observe any degenerating neurological activity for example disturbed balance while walking, abnormal response of pupil, and changes in vision, numbness in legs or arms, anxiety or speech problems. She needs support and care to recover from the trauma of injury both physically and psychologically. Family support is very important in managing trauma patients. Hence, family assessment is also advised to nurses (Gordon, 2016). On discharge Katie will be provided with instructions to be followed at home. In case of any health problem she should contact her physician or neuropsychologist at emergency department. With time and adequate rest she may recover gradually and can continue her regular activities. Conclusion Mild traumatic brain injuries are enormously common during road accidents. Comprehensive assessment of clinical history, physical examination, vital signs, technology based neuroimaging for lesions and fracture followed by neuropsychological assessment altogether play an important role in evaluating condition of patient. Doctors who are treating such patients reveal that recovery from mild traumatic brain injury is rapid only if patients get adequate rest and should slowly resume work. Theatre

Table of Contents Introduction Goldini’s mistress of the Inn Voltaire’s Orphan of China Use female character Similarity and differences Gender Conclusion Introduction The two playwrights revolve around issues of concern to contemporary society. These include violence, love, romance and care, among others. This is evident throughout the play as protagonists interact with other characters to develop themes such as love, chauvinism and romance, among others. One of the playwrights, Orphan of China, gives a story in which the emperor kills rivals in order to remain in power.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Theatre – Goldinis Mistress of the Inn and Voltaires Orphan of China specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More These plays involve paradoxical events in which people sacrifice their lives for the king’s sake. Interestingly, women are given important roles in the playwrights. However, it is qu ite important to note that they play different roles throughout the stories. Moreover, their stance in tough situations is significant in both cases. This paper will explore these playwrights with a view to establishing similarities and differences associated with the role of women. In addition, it will also explore use of these characters in developing the main themes. Goldini’s mistress of the Inn This story revolves around a young woman known as Mirandolina. Mirandolina is a beautiful woman whose father dies and leaves her an Inn as inheritance. In addition, the father proposes a suitor for her in the name of Fabricius. Fabricius is a waiter in the same Inn. He acts modestly although with great interest in Mirandolina. Three other characters are introduced in the play as Marquis, Count and Cavalier. At first, only Marquis and Count are seen to admire Mirandolina. On the other hand, Cavalier is portrayed as a woman-hater. Marquis on the other hand, lives in poverty, althoug h he is a noble. This is in complete contrast to Count who boasts of riches, which he uses to seduce Mirandolina. The two men circle around Mirandolina as Fabricius watches closely with envy. Mirandolina on the other hand, only wants them to worship her with the aim of remaining single, as she hates men. However, new twists are observed when she decides to seduce Cavalier in order to make him worship her. Cavalier ends up falling in love with her before she turns to marry Fabricius. Ultimately, the three men Marquis, Count and Cavalier decide to leave after realizing her deceit.Advertising Looking for essay on art and design? Let's see if we can help you! Its original version involved a war between Chao’s family and the conqueror who wanted to exterminate them. In the process, the emperor ordered Chao to kill himself, which he did. However, before that, he asked his wife to name their baby after him, in order to conserve his household. In the process, several people sacrificed their lives in order to keep the secret of the orphan’s escape from jail, where her mother had been confined. Of great concern is the fact that his mother sacrificed her life for a child she was not sure could survive. In Voltaire’s orphan of China, the King and his household are captured and killed except his youngest son. Zamti promises to care for the child by saving him from further anguish. However, this could succeed without sacrificing their only son. This is mainly because the Conqueror, Genghis was in hot pursuit of this child. Further twists are witnessed when the conqueror finds them before a decision is made on whether to kill their son. Interestingly, Zamti’s wife, Idame changes numerous things through her contact with the new Conqu eror who ends up falling for her wit. Use female character Female characters are given important roles in both plays. This is evident in Mirandolina’s case where she is left with an Inn as her inheritance. In addition, she is embodied with beauty that appeals to all men within the Inn. She uses this to her advantage in order to continue her hatred for men. On the other hand, one of the customers, Cavalier professes hate for women. In essence, the theme of male and female chauvinism is well developed throughout the play. In this regard, Mirandolina is used to coerce male chauvinism. The theme of love is also prominent in both plays as female characters are used as centers of love. This is evident in Mirandolina’s case wherein everyone falls in love with her. This is similar to the other play in which the conqueror falls for Idame and changes from a cruel to an understanding character out of her wits in addition to her husband’s. In this regard, love is used to su bdue a cruel conqueror that turns away from his initial intentions of killing both captives.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Theatre – Goldinis Mistress of the Inn and Voltaires Orphan of China specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Moreover, love takes a central role in feminine characters when Chao’s wife offers to sacrifice herself for his son and husband’s sake. Furthermore, this is witnessed more in Idame’s case when she expresses her love for the two infants. Female characters are therefore very instrumental in developing the theme of love. Similarity and differences The female character is used in similar and diverse ways as can be witnessed in both playwrights. In the first case, Mirandolina’s father shows her love by leaving her his possessions. This is similar to Zamti who shows his wife Idame love through his expression from the fear of losing her. Similarity this is seen when the two characters use their presence and wits to persuade male characters. This is also evident in Mirandolina’s case when she is seen to fool male admires and even manages to lure the self-proclaimed women-hater in her favor. This is similar to Idame’s case in which she manages to dissuade Genghis from killing her family. This brings out women’s power in controlling men’s thinking, behavior and emotions. In both cases, the feminine characters are described as beautiful and this makes them command more respect. Differences are paramount in these playwrights when using feminine characters. These include the war between paternal and maternal love, which is argued in the second play. This is also different from Mirandilano’s case in which she portrayed to hate men. In essence, one woman is seen as a chauvinist while the other does not. Other differences include emphasis on maternal love in which the character accepts to die instead of her child. This kind of sacrifice is unimaginable to Mirandolina who loves herself more than others. Another difference that exists is the authority of men over women in Idame’s society. This is quite different in Mirandolina’s case as she shows in her flirts with other men. Furthermore, In Idame’s society, women are submissive and are ordered around by their husbands. This is evident when the husband orders her out of his presence and plans to kill their only son without her consent. In Mirandolina’s case, she controls men but no one dares to stamp authority on her. Moreover, Idame is a homemaker who is noble and traditional while Mirandolina is a modern woman with wealth.Advertising Looking for essay on art and design? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Gender Gender is portrayed differently in the two playwrights. This is mainly because Mirandolina feels threatened by men and resorts to using her best asset to make them worship her. On the other hand, Idame is a humble wife who loves her husband and children. She is a happy homemaker although troubled by the Conqueror who intends to exterminate them. Later on, Idame is portrayed as superior in convincing the conqueror against killing them; this gives her a central role and authority as an intelligent woman. On the other hand, Mirandolina is later portrayed as weak and insecure as she seeks protection from Fabricius, a waiter at her Inn. Fabricius, who is earlier seen as weak, ultimately marries her. In essence, the feminine character starts a superior in Mirandolina’s case but ends up inferior while, in Idame’s case she starts as inferior but ends up as superior. Gender therefore, plays a major role in both cases. Conclusion The two playwrights show important roles p layed by women in society. Moreover, they show strength of both paternal and maternal love in society. Paternal love is evident in Mirandolina’s case when he gives her all his wealth. This is also evident when Zamti hesitates to kill his own son over the king’s son. Maternal love is evident in Chao’s mother as well as in Idame since she risks her life for their son. It may also be noticed that there is perversion for maternal love in Idame’s case and perversion for romance in Mirandolina’s situation.
